The 1st house is where the sun rises. Birth. First contact with the outside world. You are to be seen. When people see you or interact with you, especially for the first time, you leave an impression on them, the rising sign tells us what type of impression we might leave onto someone, depending on of course our other placements as well, but mainly the rising sign tells us that. The rising sign is our most authentic self and presents our personality as well, so if you don't really resonate with your sun sign, your rising sign is a good place to start you spiritual self discovery!
The rising sign can tell us about our hand gestures, face expressions, sound of the voice, a lot about ones personality and looks.
If there are any planets in the first house, we might understand better what values serve us, as well as where the planet ruler of our chart is.
Remember, the rising signs are our most natural representation. Even if we give off our impressions to others, there is still a part of the rising signs energy that protects our personal values, given by the sign.
