my jumper is slowly coming together and i am very excited for it to be finished

if there is anyone who knits and understands how the hell to do these instructions then i am begging for your help it's driving me mad:

Row 1: knit to marker, slip marker, knit 3, work German Short Row

Row 2: *purl to marker, slip marker; repeat from * 3 more times, purl 3, work German Short Row

for context, i have four markers to separate the front, back, and two sleeves. i roughly understand german short row as a concept but not in conjuction with these instructions. i don't know if i do gms for the rest of row 1 after knitting to the first marker. i don't know if i have to purl the same section 3 times or whether it's 3 more sections of the row. i am at the end of my tether.
