can we take a moment to talk about what nora did to kevin and andrew? how she literally cut kevin off from andrew in the last book? how from andrew was only here because kevin never went anywhere alone they went to kevin slowly stopping matter and exist to andrew? at the beggining there was only kevin day and andrew minyard and their promises. andrew promised to keep kevin safe and kevin promised to give andrew reason to live. and in the end, kevin kept that promise. andrew was the one who failed. kevin found neil. andrew fell in love. something finally made his life better. he got the reason to stay alive, to start living, not just existing. and kevin, after all, had to learn how to survive on his own because when neil came, andrew didn’t care anymore. kevin day never had anyone who would never leave him and then he had andrew and finally could call someone his real friend, a new family, and then andrew was gone too. andrew was supposed to protect kevin from the monsters inside and outside his head and at the end of the day he became another person kevin had to be protected from. sometimes I think about how traumatic it was for kevin, who lived with an abusers his whole life, to be hurt by someone who was supposed to be his trusted one for something he had nothing to do with. because if kevin knew, if kevin had a time to answer, he would tell andrew everything. i can’t believe nora really thought it won’t be ooc for andrew to choke kevin after neil was gone. andrew minyard, for whom promises were holy, broke every single one promise he has made. andrew was the first person in a very long time who made kevin feel safe and he also became the first person in a very long time who did hurt kevin both physically and mentally. and in the end their whole connection was gone, them being each other’s strength didn’t matter anymore, kevin became a stranger, someone left in the past, something andrew didn’t need in his new life.
