I’m trying to convince myself it isn’t worth it to drive 20 minutes into town just for ice cream and it’s not going so well

My first, gut instinct word count estimate for this fic: 10k

The actual word count, now that I’ve finished a first draft: 22.3k

And that’s after I didn’t even end up writing the planned last scene and cut it off early, in a better place. Still, there’s..................clearly a difference there. And I really think it’ll get shorter when I edit! But even so. WHOOPS.
