It was nearly the peak of the afternoon. The sun was poking in between the clouds and a gentle breeze kept the myriad of trees a bit more chatty than normal. Standing in a clearing, staring at his scroll was Delaney. He wasn’t paying much attention to the device, mostly listening to the sounds around him and the movements just within his line of vision. The mountains this time of year were always a beautiful sight, and a dangerous climb if you weren’t careful.
Perhaps he should have helped Skadi get here rather than telling her to meet him here.
He had taken a pack of supplies, a small tent and of course, Alabaster. The shotgun flail was carefully slung on his back was mostly for protection, and intimidation. Bandits were far too common on this side of the continent, and of course Grimm weren’t far behind them.
His thoughts were interrupted by rustling in the brush, and finally he saw a familiar face. Luckily his compass lessons hadn’t been entirely lost on her yet. Delaney thought he wasn’t the best teacher.
“Hey, see you made it okay.” He smiled, ruffling her hair. “You didn’t run into any trouble did you?”
