S3 M3 ultra Skadi
Skadi
so I was pretty down on Skadi when she initially showed up in Arknights - I was sympathetic towards Grani, after all. But between her connection to Specter and her concern for Anita, she had started growing on me a bit in Under Tides. The BIG turning points, though, were her battle record dialogue, in which she quietly and somberly describes your tactics as "So this is how you fight. Rush in with a "woosh," knock them down with a "pow," and finish them with a "thud." Very good. I'll keep it in mind." with an incredible delivery by Cristina Vee... and a random side story in IS3, where among three alternate timelines we see one where the Seaborn don't exist and Skadi is an electrician who spends her days listening to her "favorite song", singular, which really made it click for me just how autistic-coded she is. Then she stumbles into the monolith showing her alternate timelines, takes a photo for her manager, and gets the hell out of there because Oh God What The Hell - and at that point she'd become one of my absolute favorite characters in the setting.
So I was very surprised when both of these SPECIFIC events are referenced verbatim in Path of Life, the Doctor bringing up the battle record dialogue, and Blandus mentioning that she could have kept being an electrician if there hadn't been a need for the hunters. But he also says that one of the things Skadi did before was frequently send photos of the seafloor no-one understands. Even though in that IS3 story, it was a panic response. Which apparently recontextualizes Skadi as panicking and sending photos to her boss every time she's confused.
What I'm getting at is that during Under Tides and Stultifera Navis, the Doctor's terminal was probably blowing up with a bunch of very blurry pictures of confused Iberians and seaborn. And possibly Laurentina.
