Blinks blearily, wings tipped forward and absently covering them both; she doesn’t mean to sometimes, but it’s the instillment of wanting to protect that keeps the wing around him like this. She’s staring at his screen, chin on his shoulder and humming to herself as she watches, confused and a touch curious.

‘ let’s just get takeout and spend our break on the school roof. this way we will avoid trouble & people talkin’ shit ‘bout my background. ’ it could be a perfect idea and being on the school roof was always a good one. kurone loves being alone or with some classmates. alonzo was always a good pick, and one of those she actually took a liking on since the beginning of her enrollment. 

her facials don’t change much but soften up a little, following the taller by tapping behind him.  ‘ you really want to skip classes, huh. sounds tempting but i think i pass for once. ’

    “ -- you surprised me. “

Coming back to the dorms after being at her parents all sunday is an experience, mostly because everyone is so ROWDY; she’s always the last to return, if only because her parents seem to want to hang onto her as long as they can. She’s sure if they could, they would take her to moment classes end on Saturday, but she has denied them that right. 

She does still want to see them, and say goodbye properly.

Despite the rowdyness of the room, Alonzo is oddly calm. The press to her forehead isn’t anything new, an affection she’s come to expect from him over and over. He is an endless list of worries for her, and she feels bad for the fact she seems so prone to attacks. It must worry him, knowing she is without him for a whole day and, really, anything could happen within those hours.

But she laughs at the open affection, pushing herself upwards to repay him in kind. It’s familliar, soft. She likes it, even if it envokes a sense of lonliness deep in her bones, a vague hope in her that wishes her family was still complete.

But she can’t help that.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS ARE EVERYTHING.

Her first memory of knowing him, for a long time, is when she has her wings.

This by far is not the first meeting, but she counts it because this is one of the moments that kept them together, kept thier bond strong. She could talk all she liked about the time her wings were coming in, but to her it was…it was what he felt he needed to do, at the time. 

This story? It’s just them, pure and simple.

It starts off in a playpen; their parents are discussing things, futures perhaps, or other such things. Hikari who is, mildly used to her wings, wobbles when she walks still. Shifts and bends because she wants to grab something from the floor, and then hears something that sounds like something hitting bone and a cry.

Turns to see Alonzo, on the floor. His nose is bleeding slightly ( probably from the impact. ), and suddly she feels a twisting in her gut.

And then she is wailing.

‘ --- how many questions do you have ? ‘ by now, he had begun to wear thin. he’d ventured the halls for a brief discussion with the one had favor for yet now was pressed by the someone that, lacking self-control, he couldn’t stand. the mannerisms, the hopeful and lively tones to words. emotion. an imperfection held by most. yet, he seemed unable to depart from such. an interesting case.
