day 8 of @mitsukkii's agepril: rain boots! I decided I HAD to draw some cute froggy boots, and for some reason I decided on dandy being the one to wear them! So here's a tiny flower guy out playing in the rain :)

Have all of Dandy's experiences with violence been good?

Nope.

He came upon his father’s body hanging from a tree on the grounds in what was pretty obviously a suicide at the age of five. He understandably found the sight really disturbing and was traumatized by the incident. An obsession with morbidity followed, as did a lot of confusion, anxiety, paranoia, and horrific nightmares. His mother was closed off, emotional, and had no patience with him during this time, so contrary to Gloria’s memory, this is when Dandy feels their relationship began to erode. 

Not long afterward, Dora told Dandy of his father’s crimes and the twisted nature of their family tree. Her warnings intended to deter Dandy from turning out like his father only served to convince him that he was irreparably tainted, trapped by his genetic inheritance. It prompted a lot of self pity, even self-hatred, but Dandy still credits it with eventually inspiring him to embrace his inner darkness. 

A few years later, he lost his best friend Emile due to an accident in the woods, an incident he is still unwilling to speak about.
