Hey I'm really sorry to ask this but I think you reblogged a post about the movie aboutray (it was really long) and I was wondering if u remember anything about it that would make it easier to find. Sorry if this is really bizarre.

oh yea that’s alright. basically it’s a movie that’s coming out this year about how “a teenager transitions from female to male, and his family must come to terms with that fact”(according to imdb). sounds great, right? a movie with straight up trans representation. however, there’s a big problem with it. elle fanning was casted as ray rather than an actual trans guy. by casting a cis girl instead of a trans guy, the movie is basically saying that trans men are women who have male interests(like how trans women will be potrayed as men in dresses and therefore thought of as a joke). also, none of the writers are trans, and they likely didn’t talk to trans people for input to make sure the story was realistic and not offensive. trans people can’t be taken seriously if we’re being cut out of stuff about us.
