Lord knows I love a great train-song! Though the Locomotion was her biggest hit (and boy, what a hit it was!) #LittleEva knocked out a handful a REALLY solid floor-fillers throughout the 1960s. Sadly, none of them would repeat the success of her first hit, though they certainly deserved more a lot more attention. . Like so many artists of the era, Eva did not reap many financial rewards from her big hit. An unfortunately common outcome for so many singers of the 1950s & #1960s who were given less than beneficial deals from record companies. It was too early in the history of the record business for artists to have awareness of the importance of royalties & record rights. . These days Little Eva's #records are staples on #NorthernSoul dance floors around the world, including mine. Today, on #LittleEvaBoyd's birthday, I express gratitude for her contributions. There is no denying that "The Locomotion" is one of the definitive dance craze records of the early 1960s, and one of most celebrated singles of all time.
