aunt jillian, do you know of any sites that offer cheap clothing options for guys wanting to get into the goth fashion but can't afford the more high end stuff? (you don't have to answer if you don't want to!)
Weeeellllll, the thing is that guys’ goth fashion covers a wide range of stylistic options (just like goth ladies fashion), so it’s not as easy as pointing at a couple of retailers.
- Punk-flavored goth? Go hit the thrift store, buy black pants, black t-shirts, and a black blazer, then go all DIY on them with patches and safety pins.
- Romantic goth? ReStyle and Dracula Clothing both have some good options for menswear. And again, dedicated browsing of thrift stores and eBay may turn up some good things for you.
- Victorian goth? Gentlemen’s Emporium is a good starting point. (Yes, they are primarily a steampunk sort of outfitter, but they have good basic Victorian-flavored fashions.)
BUT REMEMBER! You can find basic black clothing at any big-box retailer (Target, WalMart, Macy’s, JC Penny’s, and so on), and then add your own personal touches to them. Jewelry, pins, patches, painted details ... anything that you feel like doing!
The best thing you can probably do for yourself is browse some sites like here, Instagram, and Pinterest, see what sort of styles you like, and then start browsing around thrift stores, eBay, and big-box retailers to see if you can unearth similar items.
