Mostly by keeping busy. If he can keep his hands and mind distracted than any negative emotions he has will be pushed away. Of course this only means they might resurface later, for which he likes to go on walks and practice deep breathing exercises.After a panic attack, though, it's tricky. He needs to find something to ground him (physical attention from someone else helps, as he was alone in the fire and the dissonance helps break the flashbacks). If he has one when he's alone he just repeats key phrases ('It's over,' being the main one) to himself to try and remind himself he isn't in that situation.
