If youre looking for book recommendations the series the secrets of the immortal nicholas flamel is super good! It combines a ton of old mythologies mixed with tons of different folklores and old figures in different cultures (like Machiavelli and John Dee) and a different type of magic system that has to do with “awakening” your senses to be more aware of the magic inside everything!

Hi! This series sounds super cool, I love the idea of pulling historical and mythological characters together and you really can't go wrong with Fated Twins, can you?

My personal taste in books is extremely "low stakes low conflict" though, it comes with having an emotionally heavy job ^^;

So I think these won't quite fit my cosy reading needs, but I'm definitely putting them up here for others to see!

your art is really cool! i love your style. do you have any tips on how to develop my own style / get more comfortable with digital art?

Thanks! Been slowing working on a few styles over the years. Though I honestly believe having your own style is overrated as a young artist, just draw everything that appeals to you and eventually you’ll start seeing what you do/don’t like. I flip-flopped ALOT as a younger artist and it helped strengthen my skills by forcing me into styles I wasn’t comfortable with. Like going from Steven Universe to realistic horror.

Also art style holds different importance depending on your job. As an animator, you have to draw in all sorts of styles, the more styles you can draw the more work you’ll get. As an illustrator the same can hold true, but you’re also free to stick to one style that appeals to a niche audience compared to an animator. Different markets have different styles, like video games vs cartoons vs comics. So yeah, I have a main style I like, but that doesn’t stop me from experimenting with other styles in my range. I know my limits, I’m not gonna take a job that requires realistic painting, that’s just not where I shine. I do best with heavily stylized bodies in dynamic poses, with strong silhouettes and cartoony physics. No matter what, those qualities are what is more important me, so overall I feel like it’s better to find general qualities/themes that you like, over one art style.
