“I saw a pretty bird in the park today! I gave it a french fry.”

“I don’t really...have any strong opinions about socks? I usually wear black socks. I have a pair of socks with polka dots, but that’s about it.”

“Black. Big surprise there.”

41: what’s the last book you remember really, really loving?

“I really loved Mrs. Dalloway. I didn’t like it as much the first time I read it, but the second time around it sort of, like? I don’t know. It resonated with me, I guess. I liked it a lot more.”

“I know everybody’s listening to her now, but Mitski’s Nobody has definitely become one of my most played songs. still feel by half · alive, too. 8: what artistic medium do you use to express your feelings?

“i like to make, uh… street art, i guess you could call it. it ain’t exactly banksy but it’s fun. also love to slam on a guitar or somethin’. stitch and i are thinkin’ of starting a band.”

13. what’s something that made you smile today?

“i watched a youtube compilation of skateboarding fails. pretty funny.”

22. are you a morning person?

“definitely not.”

24. is there someone out there you would trust with every single one of your secrets?

“probably shock. i’d say lock, too, but he’s the most ruthless out of the three of us.”

25: what’s the weirdest place you’ve ever broken into?

“probably the shitty pizza place in new holland, because we thought we’d still be able to get pizza even though it was after hours. i guess we didn’t consider there’d be nobody there to cook the food.”

6: do you keep plants?

She does! Every room in her home has at least one plant. A lot of them are succulents, but her favorite is the cymbidium orchid she keeps on her kitchen island. 

7: do you name your plants?

Not usually, but Attina does talk to them while she waters them -- it’s supposed to promote growth.

48: what was your biggest fear as a kid? is it the same today?

Attina’s biggest fear has been the same throughout her whole life: failure. It’s a super common fear, but being the eldest of seven and maternal figure for her sisters really amplified it and it’s never gone away. 

51: think of a person. what song do you associate with them?

She associates Helpless from Hamilton with Ariel. It may be an odd song to associate with your sister, but the song shows Eliza’s bright-eyed optimistic view of situations and the world through her relationship with Alexander, and Attina knows that Ariel has the same wide-eyed optimism in a lot of ways. It’s one of Attina’s favorite things about her baby sister.

75: tell us about your pets!

Fin Fin is Attina’s Devon Rex cat. Attina is actually really allergic to cats, so it was important for her to find a hypoallergenic breed. Finny is the sweetest cat, and very affectionate to everyone that comes to Attina’s home.

three things that make my muse sad

hmm. three things that make me sad? let me see if i can think of three! i usually push sad things to the back of my head as soon as i can!

1. thinking about my parents and my little brother. 

2. plans getting cancelled, especially last minute. 

3. people that don’t listen. 

is my muse more idealistic or cynical? 

i’m definitely more idealistic! it’s not worth my time to be cynical.
