His feet, head and tail were all tucked away from fright and she was trying not to move much at all. She's very careful not to tip him to one side or the other, because that could cause a shock for the little friend, and just as she's leaning down to set him back into the water- she notices that someone isn't too far away and could have heard the whole slightly embarrassing explanation.
