We are on repeat, it seems.
The world is not only stuck in it’s (frankly annoying) juxtaposing state of ever advanced and horridly disadvantaged but also rewind and replay - Repeat, if you will.
You have those who believe we’ve come so far, and we have truly; but when there are still children dying of preventable diseases, families torn apart in preventable wars and people dying from preventable hunger, how can you say we’re living the future.
I see a world today, that’s no better than it was a little under one hundred years ago. I see a world rife with “them vs us” mentalities and “rich over poor” countries, things I thought were in the past - oh to be young and ignorant, naive perhaps.
It seems we are no better than our past, today’s events mirror those that sent us to war a mere lifetime ago. Only now we lack camaraderie, we lack friendships and the solid foundations of good people. We can only hope I guess, that all isn’t lost, that we will remember and learn from our past or at least that the good in the hearts of humans will return. That we can somehow stop this hatred, this helplessness, this Repeat.
