@ littlewingedtrickster: Merry Christmas!
THE Night for Monsters // Aidan & Ari
Ayla's paint job on his face was finally done and Aidan admired himself in the mirror. He'd had this idea months ago and now his lover had brought it to life: Staring out of the mirrow was an artificial man with coppery skin and... he'd been overjoyed when he'd found those contact lenses with GEARS! They'd both enjoyed designing the Steam Powered Giraffe inspired costume immensely – steam punk was just way too much fun with all those lovely details! So yep, he had gloves and leather-cuffs with some gears on them and , to make them functional, a watch built into the left one, the goggles that were a must-have on his tophat and just lots and lots of belts and chains and pouches and gadgets and other fun bits and pieces. The Rabbit-inspired, crooked grin painted on his lips in black really made him look like a Cheshirecat. He was so proud of her handiwork that he'd kiss her – if that wouldn't ruin it. Oh, dammit! He kissed her anyway before grabbing the walking-cane with the compass hidden in the knob that completed the outfit. Yeah, he had some make up stored in one of the many bags for little repair works.
He quickly said good-bye to his sleeping son, who'd have to wait another year or three before he could join them to go trick or treatin. Aidan would have said he'd be a bit too old to go hunting for candy by now but Ari had convinced him that they just had to. Now he was curious if Ari had a costume as well, because the little demon had bragged thad he'd quasi been born/created in the best Halloween costume ever.
Of course the little trickster was already waiting for his vampire-friend impatiently when Aidan finally left their home to join.
Too curious to leave // Ari
A kiss on the neck? That was it? All the sense of a predator…OH - the sense of feeding. It was easy enough to tell if one knew what to look for. Need turning to satisfaction, and back to need again. He followed more closely after that. If this was how this being fed, then surely he held no danger to Ari (excepting for his ability to delve into thoughts the little demon didn’t even realize he wanted to show!)
He was disappointed when the other man ducked into a common human pub. He wouldn’t be able to watch from a distance now - it was either enter, and be trapped among the humans, or leave the area entirely.
He shifted from one foot to the other on the roof across from the building, tail excitedly flipping back and forth behind him. Oh - who was he kidding, he was far too curious to leave now. And lethal as he surely was, that other had ignored him thus far. Perhaps…he wouldn’t mind the demon boy watching a bit longer?
He pulled his shadows together and slid down a drainpipe, landing silently on the balls of his bare feet. sneaking around the building was easy, the locked door presenting a barrier only for a minute or two, until a bouncer chose to stuff some elderly staggering human out onto the street, obviously a common occurrence from the state of the human, who didn’t even bother to argue. Ari took that as his cue, and slid in behind the bulky man before he could be discovered.
As soon as Aidan entered the building he tried to somehow stay aware of the little imp outside – which was a bit of a challenge. After all he didn't want to scare him away by boldly entering his mind again. So he had to keep track of those.... faint trances that would tell him where the devilkin was, and with the distance between them and all the humans around him, the loud music, all the scents, all those warm bodies, this wasn't exactly easy. He knew it woud be easier if he'd tasted the demon before. That seemed to create a certain link of sorts. But this was an audacious thought, wasn't it? First of all he didn't know how to even get close enough to the shy little fella – charming and and enchanting him would hardly work, now would it? And then... was drinking from a demon a good idea?
Weeeeeell, he was most certainly thinking with his stomach here! And no wonder, with the scent of blood so thick in the air that he almost felt as if he could feed just by breathing. But if he'd drink now he knew he'd loose track of the little one, and that would be a pity.
So he tried to be patient, waiting in a corner, watching the human bodies moving to the rhythm of the music, entranced by it and painted by the colorful lights. And yet he somehow looked right through them, not really seing them at all but instead focusing on the one stalking him. That was until his eyes got stuck on that long, slender neck of the pretty girl dancing right ahead of him. He'd been distracted for just a moment, but it had been enough to lose the little one. Damn! He hadn't left, had he?
Aidan couldn't be sure, but as he'd just come to the conclusion that he should probably forget about him for now and just feed instead he sensed him again, inside the building. Oh, very well, indeed! If he'd made it inside he seemed determined. So Aidan's mind called out to the long-necked girl, calling her to join him in the shadows.
A Demon and a Dragon
Lona flew over the rugged mountain landscape, the thin, crisp air exciting her. Her keen eyes picked up a tiny figure on a smaller peak, a creature with wings. She hovered for a moment, watching them curiously. They leaped from the peak, their wings spreading to catch the air. Her heart smiled at seeing a youngling learn to fly.
However, things went wrong. The creature must have been too young to fly, for after a few seconds of gliding, they began to rapidly fall. With a powerful flap of her wings, Lona began speeding toward them. She got there just in time to catch the creature in her front claws.
