yaaas your anti-miggie posts give me life!! im a bigger fan of liv/holden and maddie/josh. josh was so sweet always doing new things because it made her happy. i caught liv&maddie on reruns so i have a question. i read that the show let the fans decide who maddie was gonna be with? is that true? like she could have been with josh or diggie and they had the fans decide? ty for answering! i was confused by it.

O M G pal let me tell you, I still get emotional about how Liv/Holden and Maddie/Josh deserved SO. MUCH. BETTER. SO MUCH BETTER. Most shows that have been over this long my rage fades lol but this one is like How I Met Your Mother level of craptastic to me.

And the ‘letting fans’ choose thing wasn’t exactly what happened. Disney was trying to launch this ‘interactive’ feature on their app so that fans could engage more with episodes and they decided to try and launch it WITH Choose-A-Rooney, and one of the interactive parts of the episode was letting fans vote who they thought Maddie should choose, Diggie or Josh. Only the episode/rest of the season had all been filmed for almost a year at that point so the fan reaction clearly meant NOTHING to them -- and it was hilariously embarrassing for Disney because like 67% of viewers thought Maddie should choose Josh and 63% thought Josh was a better guy than Diggie or something like that -- I don’t remember exactly but there were definitely 2 different comparison polls and the fans definitely voted Josh as a majority on both.

Needless to say... that app feature kinda faded into the abyss and didn’t really get used anymore after what an epic fail that was. Disney assumed fans were dumb enough to want Miggie together just because Dove and Ryan were together IRL even though they’d really written Maddie to have moved on and be in a great relationship with a new guy, and Diggie’s coming back was super manipulative... and it turned out they were so, so wrong, so they haven’t really used their interactive viewing thing since, probably because they don’t want to keep embarrassing themselves.
