So im in concord mills mall today to get me a bookbag. I go to leave through the childrens place and I see shirts with a natural black woman and child on it, which excites me per my stance on natural women and the passing down of pride in our natural blackness to our daughters, I get closer and see the mom has on a shirt that says "feminist", I unfold the shirt to see exactly what the hell is going on and there it was, a daughter with the same shirt and at the bottom of the shirt it reads "feminist like my mom" Once I saw "feminist like my mom" I immediately think wait, wtf is this shit. So to be fair I checked the rack to see if I saw a shirt with a white mother and child on a shirt with a similar message since the feminist movement belongs to white women, but to not much of a surprise I saw no such thing. This type of imagery is very damaging to the psyche of a black child. It begs that the idea of feminism for black women be examined. The shirt has no father in sight and doesnt explain why its something that specifically shown championed by black women to be passed down to our black daughters. @childrensplace made this shirt to show black single mothers passing down this poisonous, damaging ideology down to the next generation meanwhile no white single mothers are shown proud to be without a father nor championing the idea that this feminism to passed down to their daughters. No black mother should purchase this shirt, even if at first glance you think its cute and @childrensplace should have some explaining to do. Where are the white, so called latino, or asian moms with the same design? 🤨 #teamrob #liveabovepropaganda
