I know I haven’t started Mermaid Tales

I am procrastinating

But I can give my opinions on some ships in the Aphmau multiverse at least:

I adore Aarmau in MyStreet. They are so freaking precious to me. Same with Zanechan/Zana. I loved that ship when I was a kid and they’re still great as an adult

But I kinda don’t ship either of those in Diaries. I like KC and Dante in Diaries, they’re so cute and perfect for each other! And gosh do I ADORE Garrance in Diaries, but I don’t really see it in MyStreet

I am not a fan of Diaries Aarmau. Aaron was such a nothing character in Diaries which was devastating because of how much I adore him in MyStreet (he’s my fav character there). I lowkey would probably ship Garmau in diaries if Garrance wasn’t so freaking enticing oh wow

Laurance is my least favorite character in MyStreet and yet somehow might be my favorite in Diaries. This matches with Aaron being my least favorite in Diaries, which is really funny. Guess character development is circumstantial or whatever

I don’t feel compelled by any Aphmau ship in Diaries because the clear intended pairing is so underdeveloped and the side pairings are better shipped with each other. RIP

Anyway feel free to comment a ship and a series and I’ll respond with my thoughts 🤷‍♀️

So I found out that in one of Aphmau’s recent videos she straight up copied half the Aaron vs Ein fight scene for a gag at the beginning of the video

So I edited it together with the original fight scene for comparison :3 enjoy!

The audio for this comparison was isolated to the new version to avoid overstimulation, so that’s why it starts with Zane shouting “DA BOIS R FOIGHTIN”

Hey so I made u guys a lil treat

I couldn’t sleep last night and got one of those “You Say Run goes with everything” videos in my recommended and decided I would test that theory

So I poorly edited the song to the Aaron vs Ein fight from Emerald Secret. You’re welcome

This is probably the quality you’d expect from a sleep deprived young adult at 3am but I hope you enjoy it anyway

Zane’s character in MCD is tied to so many unpleasant metaphors that I’m starting to think it’s intentional

Of course you have the “corrupting nature of religious power” situation going on where his status as a High Priest makes him untouchable by both the law and religious persecution

But he’s also using that power to manipulate and control others, like forcing his brother to get married against his will and demanding Aphmau’s hand in marriage against her well for the sole purpose of making her miserable

There’s a toxic attachment to suffering in those goals, creating a sick and twisted kind of love shared only by Count freaking Dracula. And it all hides under a righteous pretense, be it love or honor or whateverelse

But then you have his situation with Kiki. I said before in a previous post that Zane gifting Kiki an amulet that guarantees the birth of their shared child is a literal representation of him actively… ahem… bedding her, and it’s made all the worse by him not telling her about it. To put it simply, it’s like “he lied about using protection.” Not to mention he didn’t tell Kiki that the amulet would prick her finger either, so this arrangement was entirely unconsentual

And I have to mention Alexis because it came to me earlier today: him turning an innocent child into a full grown woman without any autonomy or stable brain function could be compared to… well, a very not nice thing. He was actively attempting enslavement with her, and her age only makes it worse. I don’t even wanna go on cause the implications are very much not okay so I won’t

But these are all things I’ve recognized as part of his character before even finishing Season 1! I haven’t even seen him in the show since he fled Phoenix Drop and still he continues to build up a disturbing repertoire in his absense

Safe to say it’s getting really difficult to see him and MyStreet Zane as offshoots of the same character 😬

Though as I bring that up, PDH Gene seems to take up most of his parallels, rather than PDH Zane. There’s the toxic obsession with Aphmau, the manipulation of her and the school, and the whole Shadow Knights thing. It seems that the writers wanted to make MyStreet Zane easier to redeem in S1 by giving most of his worst flaws to Gene in the prequel (only to then redeem him in S2 anyway)

This all builds up to my headcanon that PDH Gene and Zane had a toxic situationship back when Gene was a Junior and Zane was still in middle school, only for him to cut it off when Zane entered high school to cover his tracks (and that’s why PDH Zane is so needy)

Alright guys this is what I was drawing while watching today

I wanted to practice shape language with MyStreet characters 😅 but I’m not much of an artist so it was kinda difficult

I definitely think there’s room for improvement on Zane in particular. He’s canonically plus-size so I wanted to incorporate that into his design but it’s kinda difficult to draw wide triangles when you know literally nothing about shape language

However I think I did good on Aph and Aaron. Maybe a little scuffed on the latter tho, it’s almost midnight and I really shouldn’t be awake right now and I haven’t eaten dinner yet so that’s my excuse

I drew them in order from left to right for context

Anyway I hope y’all like my headcanons. I still have to finish MCD S2 E37 so I’ll do that before logging off for the night

I have no intention of visiting the other Aphmau roleplay shows apart from the ones already listed on my main blog

But idk if anyone really wants me go watch Heart Point, Dreams of Estorra, or Meteora Valley then I might get to them after I watch My Inner Demons
