Honestly, I feel like it would have been a better choice in first season to have Thunderhoof be the big bad with Steeljaw in the shadows low key influencing stuff. Thunderhoof had already decided that he was gonna make Earth his new turf and he’s got a lot more influence and infamy and brute force as a mob boss. So he’d be more likely to recruit cons and a lot less COMPLETELY SKETCHY about it too
Another bonus is we would get more Thunderhoof, which I am all about. Steeljaw really would be a great SIC too, he's got that whole cooperation team player thing going for him. Thunderhoof provides the forceful personality and Steeljaw provides the unit cohesiveness

how far in the future is this supposed to take place? like cybertron is rebuilt but all the cons are gone??
