To Liverpool We GO
During our stay in the UK, my dad took me, my sister and his friends down to Liverpool, as probably the main reason why we went to stay in London in the first place was to go watch the Liverpool match happening on the 7th of May early this year.
The train ride to Liverpool was 3 hours long and they didn’t have any seats available because most of the seats were reserved. SO, me and my sister took the liberty of using the free space for baggage, and squeezed in there for THREE HOURS. But it was okay, I guess. Adds to the experience of it all.
We arrived to only have a few minutes to take in what was of Liverpool. It was pretty quiet, peaceful, and I really loved the atmosphere there. Once we left the station, my dad’s friends drove us straight to Anfield and whoa. Outside the stadium there are sports bars filled with LFC supporters waiting for the game to start. It was pretty neat.
The stadium was HUGE. It was a lot to take in. This was my second Liverpool game I’ve been to, only this time it’s in Anfield itself. I was pretty mesmerised by everything at time, really just taking in the cheers of supporters, and also grunts and boos from angry supporters of Liverpool, hahah.
The game was LFC vs Southhampton. It was a really shit game hahaha. But, nonetheless, I really had the best time of my life. It wasn’t just the scolding of the football members (as if they can hear their supporters), or the the constant disappointment you can hear echo throughout the stadium, that sparked my amusement. I remember sitting next to this guy who was really fuming about the whole game, and everyone around him couldn’t stop laughing. He was a good sport about it, yelling out every profanity in the English dictionary with that heavy Liverpool accent of his. The little kid in front who was with his dad was just yelling, “Go Reds!” while angry man was yelling shit like, “Fucking c*nts can’t play football.” I remember leaving the stadium, seeing that same guy running around with Liverpool merch from head to toe with his friend. In the end, we walked outside to see Liverpool fans running around, still feeling positive, cheering and whatnot. There was this one guy running out of the stadium, in full Liverpool merchandise yelling, “Go Arsenal!” Hahahahahah. I think that’s how I’ll end this piece. Goodnight y’all. 3rd December, 2017
