oh wow, thank you so much for all that information!! it helped out so much. i feel pretty icky about live food that might get away (for example, the live hissing roaches) so would a diet focused more on worms and calcium powdered crickets be okay for most reptiles? also, how would one powder a cricket? what vegetables/fruits are good for reptiles? i'm leaning more towards snakes, possibly a ball python or corn snake, or a hermit crab. thank you SO much again!!

The exact feeders you use will vary depending on what kind of lizard you get! But in general, dubia cockroaches are the best staple feeder you can get in the US. aside from silkworms and phoenix worms. But those two are kind of hard to find and much more expensive.

Dusting a feeder insect is easy! Just put them in a tab (can be a paper or plastic bag) or a tupperware container. Add the dust, close it, then give it a gentle shake!

As far as veg/fruit goes, this page goes over a lot of foods. It really varies depending on what you have as well. Even though both a bearded dragon and a crested gecko are omnivores, the plants they get are totally different!
