my thoughts on the factions:
Marquise de Cat — how does the cat get the cream? industrialisation. also i bet there's a romeo and juliet kind of thing going on between SOME of the birds and the cats, sworn enemies my ass
Eyrie Dynasty — nationalists.
Woodland Alliance — quite literally what it says on the tin, an alliance of the woodland creatures who fuck up everyone's plans. hard to win with though, but they're expertly passive aggressive.
Vagabond — if a lone wolf was a lone raccoon #alpha raccoon🐺
Riverfolk Company — capitalists but they're MY capitalists🥹 fun-wise, certainly the best. you need that dominance card? 4 warriors please and thank you! oh you need that favor card but you're not buying it this turn? that's fine until i turn around and use it on you❤️ capitalism otters for the win🌊⚓️💵
Lizard Cult — my soulmates since i hate the birds too. it was actually so fun to witness my brother playing the lizards absolutely DESTROYING my dad playing as the birds. but all their culty stuff is peculiar
Corvid Conspiracy — MY ONE TRUE LOSER LOVE, they SUCK but at least they have fun while doing it. i love my little mind games when no one guesses my plots correct i'm ALWAYS one step ahead but victory points wise oh my lord they're terrible. am i biased since crows are my favourite animal? no?
Underground Duchy — oligarchy covered in dirt (haha get it they're moles). i honestly don't have enough reportive journalism research on these guys, even though my brother always plays them. i just know that they give me bad vibes
again, i don't have much reportive journalism research on the rats, badgers, bats, frogs, or skunks since i have not played any of them, but i'll try!
Lord of the Hundreds — Leder attempted terrorism with the corvids, but they perfected it with the rats
Keepers in Iron — taking inspiration from the british i see... i do like the shared ruins mechanic with the vagabond tho
Twilight Council — the Woodland Alliance's aerodynamic cousins, they are the judges and the jurors of the woodland, and what no i'm not biased whatttt nooo maybe i love bats so what maybe they're one of my biggest interests for a while whatttttttt noooo (once i get my hands on the Homeland Expansion i will CLEAR with these icons)
Lilypad Diaspora — i'm afraid they do take the crown for the cutest faction. that's it (i'm kidding, they seem like a super interesting faction and i'm excited to see them in action)
