Leon Jolicoeur and Lilith Bagman
bagman-bullshit
The Hogsmeade Trip was in full swing by the time Leon Jolicoeur managed to make his way down to the Three Broomsticks for what he had described to Lilith Bagman as ‘a pint, and maybe a bit to eat’. Leon noticed third years had already crowded in a buzz inside Honeydukes as he passed the famous Wizarding sweet shop, and he wondered vaguely whether he should go in and buy a few goodies for the girl he was meeting beforehand. 'No,' he stopped himself, 'that'd be overkill', he decided, and instead he opened the door to the pub opposite, noting with relief that Lilith would never have to notice his lateness, not having arrived yet. Professor Sprout had kept him behind after class to lecture him about the real dangers that the magical plants in Greenhouse 3 actually posed to students. She had told him that if he couldn’t find it within himself to act more maturely during his Herbology lessons, he would be banned from entering the Greenhouse with the rest of the class and sent back to Greenhouse 2 with the second years. This would of course greatly impact his predicted N.E.W.T grade for the end of the year. The thought of that was mortifying, but Leon just couldn’t help himself from messing around sometimes. At seventeen years, Leon was the oldest of the five Jolicoeur children, but that certainly didn’t say anything about his maturity levels. The Gryffindor boy could sometimes appear to be quiet and brooding, but for the most part he was loud and exuberant – a cheery boy who loved his friends and enjoyed his life at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry – especially the Hogsmeade visits! Leon grabbed a seat at one of the tables conscientiously – one which was out in the open, but still allowed the pair to have a little privacy. Lilith Bagman and Leon Jolicoeur had been friends and team mates for years - best friends even - but still the young boy experienced nerves at the prospect of seeing her alone. As soon as they started talking those nerves eradicated, of course, but sitting inside the pub waiting for her to enter, all dark hair and smiles, caused butterflies ti churn in his stomach and he started to wonder if he was hungry at all. Leon picked up the drinks menu and scoured through the contents, in an attempt to appear casual and nonchalant which didn’t really register by his body language. Since when had he allowed girls to make him feel this way? Whilst he had been able to unabashedly been able to ask his best friend to meet at this place, he couldn’t help but notice just how intimate The Three Broomsticks seemed now he was inside it. The pub would, he thought to himself, even be a nice place to have a first date. But no, that could never be. Lilith had made it clear to him that they could only be friends, and Leon would much rather have her as a friend than nothing at all. Therefore he respected her boundaries, and didn’t see a point at which those boundaries could ever change. Giving a passing glance to his watch, Leon noted the time anxiously. Cold it be that Lilith had forgotten their plans? The idea of that was excruciating.
