     New York has shine and glamour, but Cy feels most at home in the desert. It had taken a while to convince Lou to come with her to visit family, but in the end, he caved and hopped in the car to embark on the nearly 3,000 mile journey with her. 

     While he wasn’t exactly what was expected from a boyfriend of Cy’s, Llewyn was quickly accepted into the family, whether he liked it or not. At the coast they had swam and surfed--- Well, she had, and only managed to pull Lou’s grumpy ass into the water for about an hour before he called it quits. 

     Now in her childhood home in the desert, with her parents and grandmother, and with Llewyn at her side at all times (He may have been a little nervous to leave her side, lest he be left alone with strange relatives), Cy couldn’t be more content. 

     On their final night with her family before heading back to the rush and drear of the city, Cy had taken Lou’s hand and pulled, with only the whisper of, “I wanna show you something” as any indication of where she was taking him. 

     A ten minute walk later and the house was only a beacon of light in the distance. Every question of Lou’s had been ignored until now, when she finally stopped their trek, took his hand, and spoke, “Look up.” 

     Without any city lights smothering them, the stars shone freely and fiercely, and every so often a comet would be spotted. Grinning wide, Cy carefully watched the sky between glances at Lou, and was satisfied to see at least a little awe in those eyes. A kiss planted on his bristly cheek and she beckoned him to settle down into the sand with her.

     A long time was spent like that, hand in hand, sitting on the ancient desert watching ancient celestial objects. With her head on Llewyn’s shoulder, Cy felt big and small at the same time. “Could stay like this forever,” she spoke into his sleeve, embarrassed by the sentiment.

     When she leaned up to kiss him, he returned the gesture, and they spent a while like that-- Kissing under the fantastic cosmic display above them. To Cy, it felt just like heaven.

     Road trip. Driving across the country to visit family. It's gonna take a while, but she prefers the car to a plane.

     A glance over at a very sleepy Llewyn. "Hey. Hey. Lou. You awake?"
