Elfebruary 15 - Portal
Steam clung to the surface of the water before elegantly lifting off and curling, only to disappear in the air above a short distance later. Thoughts of the upcoming evening curled lips into an amused shape, an eager exhale parting them. Enough time had been spent in the water, the scents poured into it clinging to long hair, and with a slow, relaxed movement, limbs were eased from laying there barely propped up to sitting. The heat bathed skin with a gentle color, the leftovers of a soap already used clouding the surface with a thin foam that danced and obscured with the motion of each limb in the tub. Palms held to the edge of it as the Sin’dorei stood, soon towel covered, and began to dress for the evening.
The table on the lower level was already set, silverware mixing with darkly colored plates and bowls. Those who had cooked the meal were already dismissed for the evening. It left the estate quiet. A hand reached out, gently taking hold of a glass and shifting it to the correct place. Green eyes lifted to the clock there in the room as it counted seconds into minutes there, a noise upon the front door curling lips into the same shape as before.
Golden light opened from a sliver to a full wash over the doorstep, bathing the lone woman there with its false warmth. A tarnished gold fabric covered her frame from long sleeves to a high neckline and down to a full skirt, but dark green eyes never bothered to grace the dress; it was the woman’s presence he was interested in, and here she was.
“How lovely for you to have come. It seems the portal worked as intended. Welcome, Lady Starshade.”
Llorilen Heartshadow took a step back and pivoted there, gesturing with a hand for her in otherwise silent invitation. Ellanah nodded once with a single, short motion, and stepped inside, leaving the previously lit door step to slowly darken, the heavy door closed with a click as the lock slid home.
