Curt scoffs at him, absently making a motion like he’s skipping a rock across the asphalt, seemingly unaware until the last second that the stone he tried to grab skitters only slightly on the ground from his movement. He tries again, and the stone only wobbles this time, making no real movement across the surface.

“It’s not like I have anything else to do.” He flops backwards, lying flat on the ground with his arms stretched out wide. “I can’t get drunk like I want to. I can’t go home – even if someone else is flying the plane, I can’t leave this shithole of a base.”
