A few weeks ago, we posted a collaboration between LMF & tfvsjs, and at the time, I didn’t realize that it is part of a larger project that takes old songs by LMF and gives them new arrangements/performances by current Hong Kong artists.

LMF are ‘The best Hip Hop MC’s from Hong Kong’. Description from fb: LMF stands for Love Music Forever, and expresses Hong Kong’s Free Hip Hop and Rap culture. Cantonese Hip Hop has developed since the early 1990’s and has become a phenomena in Hong Kong and beyond its borders. We love Hip Hop, We love Hong Kong, We Love Music Forever.

tfvsjs “is a five-piece instrumental rock band from Hong Kong. Formed in 2003 and starting out as a post-hardcore and screamo outfit, the band eventually grew into a music style a little less direct – instrumental math rock with a Canton twist. Whether it’s their penchant for complex rhythms, or their ear for distinctive Chinese melodies, tfvsjs has slowly but surely become a unique creative force in Hong Kong music.”

【Project Keep Pushing】is a project that focuses on the crossover between music and cinematography, produced by Anton Fung, drummer of tfvsjs and director Wong Chun. Together with other uprising local directors including Wong Fei Pang, Lo Chun Yip, Annebell Chan, Dan Fong, Hayman Yip, Chan Hau Chun, Chui Chi Yin and documentary director Joshua Yiu, and by exploiting different cinematic shooting styles, live drum rearrangements / recording, and documenting all that happens behind the scenes. We hope to transform 6 of tfvsjs’ songs and bring about a new visual and audio experience for our audience, as well as showcasing our full expedition behind this project.
