SHE PACES OUTSIDE IN THE LARGE expanse of their home’s gardens, the pool covered with tarp and the lands surrounding their home silent. the burner phone is held to her ear, and truthfully, she’d forgotten how to use it at first --- she’s so used to smartphones, but she figured it out soon enough. now she simply waits for the other to answer, her breath held as she waits to hear his voice on the other end. it’s been so long that she hardly recognises it when he does pick up, and she can’t help the way her heart skips a beat at the sound. ‘ king tamlin. i’m sorry to bother you, but my press secretary recommended that i call... it’s princess darcy. ’
