New to the Loch || Emily & Zoe
Summer vacation was something that Emily both loved and hated. It was the wait to transition between years at Hogwarts, so that was a plus. It meant she couldn’t see her girlfriend every day like she could at school, so that was a minus, but then again, she got to visit her at her home occasionally, which meant spending time with her parents too, which one of them was a muggle, and that was certainly interesting to her. Plus she did get to spend time with her own family and at the preserve, so she guessed that summer at home wasn’t too bad.
This particular day she wasn’t going into the sanctuary to help out because her parents weren’t going to be there. Instead, they were taking a trip up to the Hebrides Islands to go see the MacFusty clan and their Hebridean Black dragons that they raised. She wanted badly to go, but unfortunately, they informed her that she’d need a bit more experience before they’d be able to take her with them. Feeling a little down, she decided to go over towards the loch and see if she could see “Nessie”. The creature, to muggles, as she had found out, was called the Loch Ness Monster, but to the Wizarding community, the creature was the world’s largest kelpie, a type of water demon. She had never seen it in her whole life in Inverness, but it didn’t stop her from going to take a look. She figured it was a nice day so she might as well make the most of it.
Walking towards the town a bit more, she saw a tall girl, well, almost as tall as her anyway, and she seemed a bit lost perhaps. The town was home to both muggles and wizards, as well as many tourists coming to see if they could spot their Nessie, so she wasn’t sure just which group this girl belonged to. “Hey there, everything okay? Y’look like you might be lost?” she gave a friendly smile as she approached her, as was her usual custom.
