Thornspots (bottom left on last panel) is med cat but has feathers instead of herbs or anything because, due to Magpieclan's roots as followers of the magpie's, he has a closer connection to his own ancestors and isn't able to connect with Starclan at all, which is why Loachpaw can show himself to Midgestar and not Thornspots. The clans view Thornspots as a healer and not a medicine cat, because that would imply a connection to Starclan since that's only a clan term.

Still testing the layout/style but I don't think I'll be drawing on my laptop anymore, takes so much time compared to my phone lol

I love the frames of Loachpaw and Midgestar sm Loachpaw waited over 50 moons for them to arrive, over 7 times the time he was alive and now the only person who can see him is Midge and he's so excited to be their guide. Loachpaw appears far more to Midgestar than a normal Starclan cat would, just so he can chat and hang out

Loachpaw!! Poor bby :(

When he was only two moons into his apprenticeship, he began to hear whispers carried by wings on the wing. They belonged to magpie's, and they claimed themselves to be ancestors of a travelling group of loners that would be searching for a home. Loachpaw was the first cat to hear them, so they believed him to be chosen. Loachpaw himself believed this, and sought to negotiate with his clan and the others to make peace and a home for the traveling group. He claimed that they would be a new clan, but no one believed him. They thought he was sick, and sent him to the medicine cats den, and even if he were saying the truth, the clans didn't like the idea of a new group of cats joining them. So, he ran away.

Loachpaw sought out a home for the new group of cats, and he found it. Thick in the forest not too far from the other clans was were they would settle. The magpies that had stuck around to help Loachpaw agreed, so they left to find their group and lead them to their new home. But, soon after they left, Loachpaw was attacked by a fox whilst scouting the territory, and he was killed. He was granted a place in his clan's section of Starclan, but refused, stating that when the magpie's cats came and made their home with the clans, they would need their own section of Starclan, so he made it for them. And then he waited. And waited. And waited.

Until, 56 moons later, they came. The magpie's were distraught to learn of Loachpaw's death, as they could not contact Starclan, but one of the living cats, Midge, could see him. Loachpaw, with all the strength he could muster, granted Midge nine lives and bestowed upon him the name Midgestar. Loachpaw would then guide Midgestar on the ways of clan life. And so Magpieclan was born.

Fun fact! Because Loachpaw was the only cat in Magpieclan's section of Starclan, he was the only one who gave Midgestar his lives, which took a lot of energy from Loachpaw's spirit. Because of this, he disappeared for a little over a moon and a half and ended up reappearing the night before Faithpelt's ceremony! Midge was so happy to see him, and the same went for Loach! They spent almost the whole night talking about and practicing for the ceremony! (and Midge still fumbled lmao)

Fun fact 2! Because Midgestar is such a new leader, he accidentally picked the most basic name for Faith and was already set on the name before Loach appeared to help.

The dream sequence is also meant to show that Loachpaw is trying to contact Thornspots, but he physically cannot because of Thorns connection to the magpies, there's a spiritual barrier keeping Thorn from seeing and hearing Loach.

Loachpaw 😭 oh how traumatic I make your story <3 He is one of the only reasons Magpieclan was accepted, since he became their part of Starclan. His sacrifice will be forever honored by Magpieclan, as well as the other clans. His death was unnecessary, if only the other clans hadn't dismissed him. He does sometimes feel sad and excluded, since he can longer make contact with the magpie friends who told him of the arrival of Magpieclan.
