Today's photo is of Tommy from the 1901 short story by Australian author Henry Lawson. The humorous story tells of 3 miners who scatter in all directions when Jims dog Tommy picks up a stick of dynamite the miners have been using for fishing and runs through the fire, lighting the fuse. Tommy chased Jim to the pub, scattering the patrons in all directions as well. A mean yellow cattle dog contests Tommy for the dynamite stick and runs off with it as it explodes sending yellow dog all over the place. Tommy trots back to camp behind Jim with a smile on his face. The sculptor is Alan Scott of Glasgow using a unique technique of welding small steel rods to create his sculptures. We also visited the grounds of Mt Laura Homestead (it's closed on Saturday) attended a craft and produce Market at Tenundra.
