There were many humans who worshiped the Grands, and many who abstained and chose to follow other faiths. It wasn’t as if faith sustained the Grand Families so they’re concern and patronage was treated more like a business venture in most cases. Having no desire to succeed his father in any way shape or form, he cared little for the idea of exploiting the faith and otherwise good will of others. However, he’d seen more deals and gestures than he could count.
