Starter locs!!!!!!!🥳🥳🥳🥳

Wow this was a process. I had my husband help me part my hair and at one point I thought about quitting. But I paused, meditated for a while, got some coffee and tried again. There are some ones that I need to redo. And that is okay, I keep having to remind myself of that. Everything is good and okay and I can fix the ones that need fixing later today.

I am so excited to be starting my loc journey! If you have any tips or any advice I would greatly appreciate it! Or even if you want to share the story of your journey 😊

Loc Blues

I'm getting my hair re-twisted Wednesday after work and honestly I cannot wait any longer. This awkward stage of my locs has a tendency to mess with my confidence. 

Most days I'm absolutely in love with my hair but there are some days when I feel absolutely defeated by my hair. Those days are filled with self doubt and anxiety about my hair. 

I'm in my feelings about something so superficial and it's kind of embarrassing...

My stylist has suggested I try  pinned up loc styles to encourage my hair to loc but I haven't been able to find completely pinned up loc styles that can be done on my short starter locs.

#blackout was such a great source of locspiration for me, but I honestly don't know how to begin feeling more comfortable and confident during the starter locs phase of my journey.

I need a fairy loc mother/father/person to guide me through this... HELP!

Hey loc wearers, I have questions!

Have any of you started your locs with long hair (like shoulder length or longer)? If so, what method did you use and how long did it take to loc up? I've got the "I want locs" itch again but cutting my hair is the deterrent. The cost of loc extensions is kinda prohibitive right now but if I ever get my come up that may be an option.... I don't knoooow

I have lint at the bottom of a couple of my locs and it bothers me. I might dye my hair to cover them up.

I've tried the picking it out with a needle before and I don't recommend that. one of my locs is thinner in that area because I tried to get the lint out that way.

Maybe I'll dye my hair black?
