Not relating to any ask game, but which of your ocs would be the best to watch a movie with?
Who would be the worst?
(By your own standards)
Oooh, there are quite a few that would make watching a movie an entirely new experience but if we're going by my standards, we would be watching a sci-fi (or fantasy) movie of any kind.
While I think that a movie night with Resonitas, the theater play scriptwriter, sounds exciting, they would likely spend more time on picking out and analyzing the themes and performances of the film/actors. Their commentary would be highly appreciated if you're watching something you're already familiar with because you wouldn't have to follow the plot as closely as if you were watching it for the first time.
Azimuth and Exopulse watch movies together, but they're a quiet and attentive audience - the experience may be more comfortable this way but I think Azimuth's twin Altitude would be the best pick. He has the trained eye of an actor and excitement of a theater nerd (while his brother is more of a theatrical nerd) and he's generally pleasant to be around. He would give his feedback when you ask for it or stay silent and enjoy the film with a faint smile on his face just like he enjoys everything life has to offer. He's a charming fellow.
And who would be the worst? Probably Monochromator. He has had enough of real science fiction to last him a lifetime and he would hate to relive the memories he tries to bury under everything else. Nice, wholesome feel-good titles would be fine with him, but if it's eerie/terrifying/isolated/gory, he'd be out of the room in a second.
Can you please talk more about Seventeen? They sound so interesting
Gladly! :-D
This is a short summary of their story which is set in a TFP post-canon AU.
(!) Wall of text under the cut (!)
Cybertron's core has been revived, nature is thriving and new as well as old life finds its way back onto its surface after countless millennia of war and abandonment. Prime's team has established somewhat of a society and they make the important decisions for now, but they do ask the Cons for their opinion. The majority of the construction workers are Vehicons, but now that their leadership is gone, all they have is each other and because they are stranded on this planet with the other faction, they decide to work for them. With them.
One of the workers is Seventeen. They are nothing special, just another faceless Vehicon of many, but they do their work diligently and with a stubborn dedication that is hard to come by. They are not afraid of approaching their superiors such as Bulkhead and Wheeljack who they know cannot hold the rest of them apart, so they have the courage to inform them about the updates on the rebuilding efforts, as they don’t expect to be recognized and blamed for, should anything go wrong. And for a long while, it remains like this.
However, they don’t have many friends, and although the lot of them are not truly seen as individuals by the rest of the Autobots, they have formed a small community on their own and yet Seventeen is often left out of their little gatherings in the evening. The others don’t trust them enough to keep their (mosty harmless) secrets and because of that, they feel something. They don’t know what it is yet, but they will learn that this feeling is loneliness.
This is also the reason why they put their heart into construction and seeing that everything is done perfectly, and this doesn’t go unnoticed by a certain mech. Ultra Magnus talks to his fellow Autobots about Seventeen and they begin to suspect that they might be one singular bot who is guiding the others.
When Bulkhead, Wheeljack and Ultra Magnus announce a vote to have a bunch of them promoted and employed as overseers, Seventeen volunteers. The rest think they are suited for the job because of their previous involvement and constant demonstration of competence, and they vote for them. Seventeen finally get the official role as an overseer and get to spend more time with the Autobots.
Suddenly, as new Cybertronians return to the planet, one ship has to take a safety landing on the moon, where the crew gets infiltrated by Airachnid and her army of Terrorcons. They infect the crew with the venom that turns them into zombies, the ship then launches with the mutilated, rabid crew plus the additional dozens of zombies and they crash-land on the planet where they begin to spread the virus.
Overnight, the information reaches the Autobots and decide to get rid of them. They ask the newly repaired Starscream for advice and he comes to help them (because then they will be in his debt and he thinks he can use that in the future), but it is too late and the zombies attack the construction site full with exhausted Vehicon workers. Only a fraction survives, with Seventeen being one of them.
The survivors are placed in the Autobot-run Nemesis. The next attack comes right the following day and they have to flee from their base and get somewhere safe. Seventeen is injured and threatens to become corrupted, yet they manage to resist the Dark Energon and they cut off their injured arm and hurt their leg in the process. They now have a lame leg which shall later be replaced by a temporary placeholder prosthetic. The fact that they have been in contact with the virus leaves them on their own, as the rest of the Bots and Cons doesn't want to risk their lives in case the corruption takes longer and they turn into a Terrorcon.
They have been abandoned and now roam the desolate land in search for safety, but their injury takes a toll on them. They are still loyal to their faction, their friends, and go on a journey to defeat Airachnid's Terrorcons single-handedly, but that brings them back to their group that won’t lend them any help. They reason that it must be the fear of belated symptoms which the others are afraid of. They remain right outside their base, warning them of incoming attacks and fending off the infected ones, until Airachnid arrives and the others defeat her. Reinforcements (other returning Cybertronians) help them and they render the entire Terrorcon army out of existence. It takes some time to engineer a vaccine, but after it is done, they put the zombies to rest, bury them on the moon and Seventeen is allowed to come in an join the Autobots if they want to, but they decide to go back to their group where their home is.
Hi, for the OC ask could you answer 1 with Jinx and 11 with Helios please?
Hi!
1. What's the maximum amount of time your character can sit still with nothing to do? (Jinx)
Without any of his siblings to keep him company? A minute at max. With them, maybe an hour or two. He isn't the most patient guy when there is no one nearby. A real extrovert, one might say. Jargon is one of his 35 'siblings' who's closest to him and his calming, more introverted nature paints off in some situations - Jinx could remain still for many hours if Jargon was present.
11. How do they cope with confusion? (Helios)
First, his processor will crash briefly (nothing serious, it just feels like a sudden headache). Then, he will think about the thing that confuses him for a day and search it up somewhere. Since Helios is a coward, he will not ask for clarification - unless lives are on the line.
If all else fails, his kicked puppy look has to be deployed, but it's very ineffective on fellow Cybertronians.
Guilt: What is your OC guilty about? How do they handle their guilt? Do they try to avoid guilt, or do they accept it?
Helios will never forgive himself for not saving Aegis. Wishing he'd been the one to get shot, he will gladly sacrifice his life to save others. But at the same time he wants to live on, in honor of his brother.
Had he been able to, Aegis would have hated to see him wallow in misery and he sure as hell would have hammered it into Helios' helm that it was not his fault and that he should move on and make something of his life.
Does he handle his guilt well? I don't think so. It probably eats at his conscious from inside, but he learns to live with it.
Hate: What does your OC hate? Why? How do they act towards the object of their hatred?
At first, he hated Proteus. Fresh from the assembly line, Helios was rushed towards the exit where others like him were waiting for orders. He and Aegis were last minute additions to this day's agenda and never showed up on any official documents of the factory so no one questioned it when Proteus brought them home. The other mecha of their respective batches were too new to care.
The senator was... not a good boss. The contracts they were forced to sign placed many restrictions on them and had too few loopholes to exploit. He basically regulated what they did, when and how and since they weren't registered as Cybertronian citizens, they had access to all the basic necessities only through Proteus.
But Proteus took a liking to Aegis, not in a romantic way or anything, he just thought the big mean bodyguard was great at intimidating his enemies and nice to chat with. Aegis hated to talk and he hated to spend time with his superior, but he did it to keep him manageable around his other employees. He just knew how to deescalate a situation that was threatening to blow up and he used his mediator skills whenever he had to.
Helios... wasn't so lucky. He got the short end of the stick. Proteus knew who he had been all this time and he wanted to get back at Ambulon because he is very, very petty.
Whatever Proteus wanted to be done, he ordered Helios to do it regardless of his qualifications or skills. Sometimes it proved to be a complete waste of his time, other times it was something that went against his moral compass, but Helios did what he was told to in order to keep his brother safe. If he did the dirty work, Aegis didn't have to suffer.
Lashing out at Proteus was a very bad idea. He never voiced his concerns and fears out loud, only hinted at them when Aegis and he were alone, but neither knew how to change anything about their situation.
For the OC ask game could you do 🤍🤔🐈 for Helios please?
I'm invested in him now
Yay! I'm so happy you find him interesting! :-D
🐈 CAT — does your oc prefer a wide circle of friends or a few close friends?
It's his wish to be friends with everyone which is impossible to achieve. If he is honest, he just needs one friend, maybe two to be content and that's what Ironwing and Nightjet are for. To be his friends. Though they never really acknowledge their status as friends, at least not in the main story, but that's exactly what AUs are for.
🤍 WHITE HEART — what are three of your oc's neutral/questionable traits?
Helios can be quiet and reserved when he doesn't feel like socializing, has little reservations for how far he can push himself and is dependable albeit easily manipulable.
🤔 THINKING FACE — what are some of your oc's quirks/mannerisms?
He doesn't understand most kinds of humor and instead laughs when others do, even if they crack jokes at his own expense.
It is easy for him to stand or sit still for hours on end.
In his early life, he was quite paranoid and always feared for the safety of his brother.
He tends to neglect his own health when he thinks it's nothing critical. Damaged parts and malfunctioning systems go unrepaired for long periods of time - that is how his rotor system ceased to work.
His legs weren't made for walking and that is all they do. His rotors were made for flying and that is what they never do.
You know reading that answer about Helios from that other ask game has got me intrigued
So could you please do 3,4, and 25 for Helios please?
Aaaa, thanks!
3. What is your OC's fatal flaw? Are they aware of this flaw?
His greatest flaw is his inability to function as a normal member of society as well as a deep-rooted self-doubt that has been planted and cultivated figuratively by those around him. And he knows it is there and is aware that this is an issue which prevents him from getting what he wants - people to like him - yet he doesn't know how to solve it. It gets better over time, but it still takes millions of years for him to get to a point where he can say that he has someone he can trust. Not with his life, but with menial, unimportant tasks he tended to do on his own.
This "someone" is Railjet's team of N.A.I.L.s and later Firecry's team. They kinda become friends in the end.
4. When scared, does your OC fight, flee, freeze or fawn?
I had to look up what 'fawn' means, heh.
In the first few seconds Helios freezes on the spot. If he's facing the danger alone, he will try to flee because he's just a little guy and can't do much damage on his own, but if he's with someone, Helios will stand between the scary thing and his companion in order to guard them with his frame. It wouldn't be effective, especially if the one he's guarding is like twice his size, but it's the thought that counts. The only time he considers fawning, bargaining for his life with a greater force, is when the senate is deciding over his fate. He promises he'll be a better henchman, just give him another chance.
25. What is your favorite thing about your OC?
It may be the fact that I can do with him whatever I want. The sole purpose of his existence is to be a creative outlet for my terrible, horrible, no-good ideas and a stress-ball. He's unable to stop me from putting him in traumatizing situations, he can only watch and suffer as he is thrown into The Horrors time and time again.
Helios is my sweet, tainted baby boy and he knows it.
That's the last of his pics on my phone.
"Mother, why do you hate me so much?"
"I do not hate you, my dearest child. In fact, I love you more than you could possibly ever handle."
For the ask game with numbers with Seventeen with 22, 28, and 8 please?
Oh! Ouououo! Seventeen! I'm very normal about them, you see. They are a generic Vehicon from TFP that are part of a small post-canon AU where they slowly rebuild Cybertron. The idea for them came to me while I was listening to Seventeen by Harry101UK on YT and it's such an eerie song - perfect for a horror AU.
8. What book genre is their favorite?
They don't read, but if they did, they might take a liking to travel guides and books about architecture and civil engineering. Seventeen is pragmatic and values knowledge that can help them make somejing that helps others, whatever that may be. They like their prose to be informative and won't finish a single novel that does not center around their interests.
22. What is holding your OC back to achieve their goals?
They just want to finish the building their team and the Autobots are working on, but that's difficult to accomplish when a horde of Terrorcons is constantly attacking the construction site. One day, they injure their arm and come in contact with Dark Energon that contaminates their fuel lines, but before their body can absorb the rest, they rip out their own arm and leave the safe haven the Autobots have made for them, in expectation that they might turn into a zombie themself. Their biggest wish is to return to the others and resume their job - with a chance of Dark Energon coursing through their system and one missing arm.
28. Is your OC a dog or cat person?
Seventeen is a dog person though they strike me more as a mouse, rat, hamster or guinea pig kinda person. But a small, fluffy dog is also welcome in their arms.
