i really should NOT be thinking of more vsmp aus to write about BUT CONSIDER-
superpowers/heroes/vigilante au. yes this will be mostly about bloodletting/trust bites are we surprised.
owen is a villain(?) who had been captured, along with three others (scott, shelby, pyro) in an Incident involving the city’s heroes. the why and how isnt important, what is tho is that owen was likely trying to get caught in the hopes that he gets sent to the same facility as his partner, louis, who had been a vigilante a few years back and had gotten captured. (framed as a villain and for a crime he didn’t commit) he doesn’t get sent to the same place.
legundo is a doctor, brought in by the prison to provide medical care to the villains, tho namely- owen, who the facility figures out quickly that he’d been hiding some illness from the public the entire time, and has no experience in handling a case like his. (something something maybe his condition worsens with use of his powers?)
owen is hostile at first, bc of course he is. resistant to let legs help, because “no other doctor has ever figured out what was wrong with me, so why would you be any different?” and “im a villain. you don’t really care whether or not i live. this is all just one big paycheck for you, isnt it?”
and legs doesnt think he’s making much progress, but he keeps trying. rather than try to diagnose owen, he just tries to be there. he spends some time with the rest of the “team” owen had been captured with, scott/pyro/shelby, but most of his time is spent with owen.
eventually, legs decides after a particularly rough day with owen where he gently tried to bring up the villain’s partner, that he’s going to go and find louis. and so he does. not in any official capacity, just as a visitor to ask questions. louis is both everything legs expected and also isnt. he has memories of when the vigilante had been caught and the alleged crime, he remembers feeling terribly at the outcome for a man he’d seen in the news do nothing but good despite the negative publicity. he remembers not joining in as the city cheered for the downfall of a “villain.” but time imprisoned and isolated from the outside world had certainly taken its toll.
legs decides, after several visits with louis in an attempt to understand owen better, he wants to help them both. he’ll do what he can, and tho he has no superpowers of his own, he wants to try and help two men wronged by the system around them.
something something legs ends up bonding with the both of them, with something more brewing beneath the surface. anyway do we see the vision?? im unsure if i’ll write this out, bc it does intrigue me. might be my next long-form fic after i finish Bite the Hand, so we’ll see. id also be happy to see what ideas yall can come up with! i may ramble more about it later :3
