Some of the pictures of our -very small- Starsky and Hutch Los Angeles location tour. The houses: Now and then.
Venice Place looks more or less the same. It is located at 1027 Abbot Kinney Boulevard. We loved that street; it’s so nice and cool, so much like Hutch. We were very lucky to stay in an apartment only a minute’s walk to the boulevard -five minutes’ walk to Hutch’s Venice place :D
We got inside Venice place -but just a little. These are the stairs. Hutch’s door is the one on the left. The door on the right is the entrance to Spa Sophia- if you want to see inside the building check their photos here
Starsky’s Ridgeway house (yesssssssssss!!!) is not on Ridgeway Avenue; the house is at 2000 N Sycamore Avenue. I didn’t know it was so close to Hollywood Boulevard and the Walk of Fame (what an ugly place!). Also in the same area we went to see the hotel where Janis Joplin died, the Landmark hotel, now known as the Highland Gardens hotel. 5 minutes walking from the hotel, going up a side street, a very steep and winding road (we walked everywhere; we don’t drive), we found Starsky’s place. It hasn’t changed a lot, it is easily recognizable and it is located in a very quiet street with relatively few houses.
Ridgeway house is the one with the mirrors in Starsky’s bedroom (heeeey!!!)
not gonna show the pictures of my stupid face happily smiling in front of Starsky’s place
The last Starsky and Hutch house we visited was Hutch’s Canal Cottage on the Venice Canals. The address is 232 Sherman Canal. This house has changed a lot, it has two floors now and they built houses next to it. It looked like they were doing some renovations in the cottage. We had to wait some minutes until a guy with a ladder left. The Venice canals are so beautiful!
