Sawyer could play it calm, cool, and collected. Really, she could. In her time on the road with Atlas, she’d met some big names, had some stories to tell, and like the young professional that she was, she’d mastered the art of...well, young professionalism. But something about occupying the same space as Lochlan Murphy took that professionalism and threw it out the window. She’d been a fan as long as she could remember, and though he had taken the normal person route as of recently, Sawyer’s brain refused to get the memo. All he’d done was ask her how she was doing, and in lieu of answering, she’d accidentally knocked over her beer, drenching both the counter and her own lap. She could feel the flames that engulfed her cheeks as she stood and backed away from the bar.
“I’m so sorry--” Don’t cry, don’t cry, don’t cry, her brain screamed, but she could feel the lump in her throat form despite her own warning.
