[ TXT ] : do you want the good news, the bad news, or the chaotic news first?
It was his weekend with the kids, and he'd been called for a random drug screening. It would absolutely fucking figure.
Thankfully, Finn was willing to watch the kids for him just long enough to be able to make a quick run to the hospital and right back to their apartment. Ever since he offered Finn a place to live closer to the hospital so he wasn't sleeping in his car between shifts, it seemed like the nurse was making sure he was doing everything he could to pay him back. And Frank wasn't the kind of guy to take advantage of that too often, not anymore at least, but this had been a tough spot for him. Besides, every time the kids were around them, they seemed to like him and they had fun.
Finn, it turned out, was pretty good with kids.
So, when Frank got into his car after doing the drug screening and got it started, he heard a text come in just as he was buckling his seatbelt. Looking at the text, he couldn't help the little bit of a smirk as he shook his head. He knew everything was likely fine, Finn he'd learned by now liked to tease and that usually meant things were good.
[txt; finn] as long as I come home and the apartment isn't on fire how chaotic can it really be?
Frank smiled to himself as he sent the text, and set his phone aside before putting the car in drive. It wasn't more than a fifteen minute drive to their place, and while Frank wasn't thrilled at the reason he had to take this little trip in the first place, he almost guaranteed whatever he found when he got home the kids would be happy and having fun.
