So for the past several years, I’ve been studious about keeping my holidays from mixing. It felt disrespectful to mash various traditions together.
This week, I came to the conclusion that when it comes to the Christian holiday of Christmas, the celebration of Jesus’ birth is a celebration of family. Not family as the people you happen to be related to by blood. Family as the people you have chosen to love and for whom you are willing to sacrifice.
Loki, Sigyn, etc, are part of my family. If it is not disrespectful to love them at any time of year (I do not believe it is), then I should not exclude them now.
Funnily enough, I couple of hours after I reached this conclusion: I was in the bathroom; I turned around to wash my hands and there was a tiny spider three inches from my face, hanging from the ceiling! Idk if Loki approves, disapproves, or was just sayin’ hi, but it definitely meant something. XD
