My New Year’s resolution was to be cringe and free but I’ve highkey been lacking so posting my boi Orbit.
I knew I wanted him to have Caine’s model type and bring elements of Pomni’s, so Ori has a very similar colour palette to his mom and shares the smooth/connected style of teeth she has. He inherited his dad’s leg type but got his mother’s hands (smooth, slimmer and no claws)
Orbit was named after his initial appearance when he was born. Similar to how Caine looked before he found the mind files, Ori was originally a purple orb with the addition of rotating rings around it. The rings later absorbed, letting him stabilise into a more humanoid shape. Eventually his avatar popped into existence after a few weeks. Ironically, he began “orbiting” people once he learned to walk, constantly walking circles around everyone.
While Ori is technically an AI like Caine, he has less power and has a harder time conjuring. He’s sort of the middle ground between Caine’s abilities and the humans’. He can change his size like Caine but lacks the multiple arms, though he typically shrinks down in size rather than increase.
Orbit’s personality is closer to that of Pomni’s but he has Caine’s energy when it comes to things that interest him. He’s picked up Zooble’s tendencies towards profanity over the years, much to Caine’s dismay. Ragatha’s empathy rubbed off on him which made him very quick to offer his listening “ear” and checks in on the people around him fairly often. While not gifted in drawing himself, Ori loves to watch Gangle and reads all of the comics she makes. Kinger has always been a safe space to Orbit when he’s found himself unable to approach his parents about a topic.
After reaching adulthood, Ori was given administrative rights and began helping Caine work on “adventures” and locations around the map. He specialises in finding bugs or places that lead out of bounds. He also helps newcomers settle in, offering tours around the various maps and collecting requests to pass on to Caine.
