The little girl was just walking in a daze, drinking her cocoa and carrying a bag of groceries in the crook of her arm, not even looking in any of the shop windows that would’ve usually caught her eye. Maybe it was the cold and the snow, maybe it was the glum from the lingering thought of being alone for New Years, or maybe just that she was feeling very tired. Anyway, she just wanted to get home and make dinner as quickly as possible. But then a curve ball is thrown at her; not looking where she was going, a shop door being opened in her face, causing the cap of her cocoa cup to pop off, hot drink spilling down her shirt as she let out a shriek. Definitely wide awake now. “ Ah! O-Oh goodness, really hot..! ”
