You know what my favourite thing to do when I get paid? Buy art from artists. If I won the lottery tomorrow, I'd buy just SO MUCH art. Not from a gallery, though, to line pockets of dealers and gallery owners. I'd go on tour, finding every commission artist I could, pay them ten times their rates to just make beautiful things. I'd be like the pope during the renaissance, patroning a hundred artists a year. Then I'd put that art out there for everyone to see — I'd have the most obnoxious, unaesthetic instagram covered with links to the artist. I'd run a YouTube channel with the only call to action, "Hey, go buy art from this amazing artist!" I wanna die with enough original pieces in my home that someone could open an art gallery from just the stuff in the bathroom, but they can't because my will said I was only paying to borrow the art and anyone wanting it will have to buy it again from the original artist. I want enough money to cover a city in art so everyone can start to understand why the soul aches when you see something truly miraculous made by human hands.
