Interview with ARIA
WOC: Do you have a personal studio at home? If so, what is your set up?
ARIA: I have a studio set up at home with protools, I've got an 11 rack, SM pro audio studio condenser mic which is all I need to record vocals and I've got my synth and guitars for when I'm writing songs or recording any of my acoustic stuff. So it's cool but sometimes I wish I was a producer and could make the tracks from start and get the ideas and sounds down that are always running thru my head, and fast, sometimes it's hard to keep the vibe and momentum going in a recording session when you try look for ages for one little thing. Whatever makes it easy to keep the same level of energy going in the studio, everything is energy so ultimately I guess it's got to effect how the song comes out sounding like!
WOC: What type of music you'd never sing to?
ARIA: Haha I'm pretty open minded there's nothing I would be closed off to, I like what I like when I like it. I was going to say I'll never sing to opera because I can't sing opera but if someone sent me a track with the music an opera singer would typically sing to and they wanted me to write a song and sing it with my own ideas and feel to it the way I typically would instead then that's different I guess. So no type of music I wouldn't sing to, I'll be open to ideas the universe may present and inspire me with.
WOC: What local place you love to go to and why?
ARIA: Oh I'm such a loner and introvert sometimes especially when you're in the studio alone and you want to get it done. Sometimes places give me anxiety I feel everyone's energy and emotions but when I go to get away and clear my mind I'll go to my favourite park and sit along the lake and contemplate life and try to relax.
WOC: Why is it that people say they slept “like a baby” when babies wake up like every two hours?
ARIA: Gee I guess when a baby's sleeping they look so relaxed and they don't fall asleep with the typical stresses of the day as others may have at some point when they get older and go thru just life In general i guess. So that's my thoughts and personal analysis of that phrase I think.
WOC: If you lived in a tribal society, what role would you play? (Hunter, gatherer, shaman, chieftain, etc.) hehe.
ARIA: Haha I love this question.. I think I would create a roll that combines all of them together, id probably call it a wanderer! I would probably be wandering away from the tribe to go off on my own journey "to seek out new life and new civilisations" to quote Star Trek! And in doing so id probably meet new tribes but I think I am my own tribe made of each of those roles, i am my own chief and no one rules over anyone else but themselves. I've never really liked categories, labels or anything we as societies sometimes box ourselves in. We all have the same right as any other person, we each have all the answers and potential within ourselves and at the same time we're all connected!
