Honestly, the hype around this whole haunted house thing didn't make much sense to Nate. He didn't really get everyone's excitement for halloween in general - but a sorority party was a sorority party, and it was easy enough to get through the haunted house by glaring at the few actors who tried to approach him, making it clear he would not be impressed (or rather, scared) by their doing so. And then he could get a drink and act like it was a normal party, if not for the wings on his back.

As he did just that, replacing the empty cup in his hand for a different one, he saw Logan, jerking his chin up in greeting to her. "Yo," he said, briefly glancing at her outfit, and unsure of who it may have been (was she even dressed up? He wasn't entirely sure, to be honest), choosing not to comment on it. "You look like you might be even less into this than I am," he said, a grimace settling onto his face as he gestured between the party and Logan's general uncomfortable demeanor.

who: @logiyande when: august 21st or 22nd or so. first day or two of move in week where: the quad or somewhere around campus

"Logan," Jacqui said when they spotted her from where they were sitting cross legged on a bench, basking in the less-polluted-and-all-together-way-more-enjoyable-to be-out-in late summer sun that was beaming over campus. They had texted with Logan a bit last semester, but their messages over the summer had gone mysteriously unanswered. Not that that bothered Jacqui - half the time, they weren't the most reliable at answering anyways (especially this summer), so they never read into it if they didn't get a response. "I guess you were busy this summer," they said, leaning to put their weight into one hand as they angled their head to a shoulder, eyes screwed up in the brightness of the day, the playful smile that appeared not lasting long. Not because of Logan though - just their mood. They had figured being back on campus would ease the relentless downward tug they had been feeling, but...not luck so far. Granted, the blocked off charred Commons may have something to do with that. "I hope so for my sake, at least," they added after a beat, their tone teasing as they coaxed the smile back onto their face.

It was meant to be a quick stop in Diagon Alley to pick up some more quills and owl treats. Of course, Barty had forgotten to account for how damn busy the place would be during the holiday season. He had never been in Diagon Alley for the holidays. It was always Hogsmeade that he went to. Due to his lack of forethought, Barty was caught in Diagon Alley in the cold in only a windbreaker. He tried his best to weave quickly through the crowds. He really hadn’t thought the trip through.
