top 5 fics recs!
ooooh good one! there’s many more comfort reads that i haven’t read in a while that i saw when going through my favorites in my bookmarks lol but these are one i read or reread recently so i can vouch for them the best 💖 also i kept it just hockey rpf and tried to list a diversity of ships! in no particular order:
the real thing (sidgeno, 35k) by sevenfists - everything by sevenfists gets a rec from me but this one is probably my favorite. so many lines and moments live rent free in my head from this one. and the smut in it is FOUNDATIONAL to me.
memento (sidgeno, 20k) by beggingwolf - it’s was a toss up between cross the line and this one, but memento actually made me tear up lol so it won over. i owe it a reread, and i’ll probably get to that in october/the fall when i read some horror!
head above water (mattdrai, 91k) by - yourblues one of the first hockey rpf fics i read and it rearranged my brain matter. the fic that made me go oh wow this rpf shit is serious i need to get into this (and by this i mean, the sport of hockey and the boys people write these epics about. and here i am!). currently (very slowly) rereading it!
with wild abandon (mackwill, 19k) by kisscamcolby - another fic that rearranged my brain matter. getting to see this one come together was such a joy.
where you lead series (jacknico and jdtz, 118k) by linsky - i may be cheating by listing two fics in one here but @utahmammoth recced me these to get into bio!bdsm aus and oh man what an introduction. i love these fics; the jacknico one is amazing and the jdtz builds up on it in every way it’s sooooo so good.
