it's interesting how "a bicycle built for two" has developed an association with robots, even though lyrically it's got nothing to do with them and is just a sort-of love song.

so what if when a robot learns to love-

I'm trying to find songs for a Logis playlist and I am realizing I have made him a very counter-cultural character, because I can hardly find any recent or popular songs that hold to his themes...

Logis is searching for truth and through that discovers love, meaning, and beauty. Logis was made with a purpose that is good, and him trying following it is worth it even when he realizes he's flawed and can't do it perfectly. Logis gains the knowledge of right and wrong, and the free will to choose right and wrong, at the same time. Logis' meaning and value come from the very real and cosmically terrifying truth that exists outside of himself that he cannot control.

...but most songs are about how your meaning is for you to decide, your flaws are what make you unique/special/beautiful, deviating from design and purpose is superior to following your purpose, and love is some vibe-y feeling that you can't understand or even experience through reason.

hehe it's really funny to imagine how Logis will talk in the long term after his awakening, when he is more emotional but is still trying to be objective.

what he wants to say: I'm sorry, I don't understand how what you said can be true. is there some other factor I'm missing? would you explain it to me?

what he feels: oh my gosh, that's so stupid. that is the dumbest thing I have ever heard. you're stupid. just shut up. dear goodness.

are there any OC Thoughts (TM) that you're having that u'd like to share

I have two characters who I did not intend to be a romantic pairing who may end up that way now...

There's Logis, who starts out highly valuing truth but not really understanding love. And there's Clair, who also values truth, but has a lying problem that interferes with her desperate need for love. both of their arcs are meant to be completed when they find truth and love.

and well... truth and love go hand in hand. those two concepts need each other.

so uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuh, what if the robots held hands?

I might not make it a romantic thing because their relationship would be... very wonky on account of Logis being a supercomputer hidden inside a guy that Clair commissioned for her spy operation, but I also might because I've got an itch for wonky relationships being redeemed that I need to scratch after being disappointed by too many "forbidden love" romances I've read.

they definitely are going to become a pair of some kind tho.
