How come firebenders are so pale? They are firebenders, they literally get powered by the sun, why aren't they at least tanned?

sorry to tlok post I think I might have made this post before but. is there any reason at all tenzin has to be the one to 'repopulate the air nation' or whatever or that aang should have focused on him only in cultural education. besides whether that's plausible for him it's just like - ???? why would kya & bumi II not be able to have airbending children as well?

obviously not only bender parents can have bending children - presumably they must have a bending ancestor or something similar, but neither of katara's parents was a bender. and mako and bolin's mother obviously had one or two children that didn't inherit her own (non-)bending - I don't know if we know whether she was a firebender or just from the fire nation - so couples with one bending or bending predisposition each can obviously have children w different abilities

is there anyyyy reason to assume kya or at the very least bumi couldn't have airbender children they could pass aang's culture down to and be taught by him or tenzin. like am I stupid I don't think I am. both of their imaginary children - or at least bumi's as a former nonbender - should be able to be either a waterbender, an airbender, or a nonbender, right? I understand that maybe the pressure wasn't on them to the extent that it was on tenzin as an airbender, and that he was presumably the one trained to pass on airbender culture, but why did he also have to be the only one to physically produce airbenders. I don't understand
