Chârvâka

Chârvâka (également appelé Cârvâka) était une école de pensée philosophique développée en Inde vers 600 avant notre ère, qui mettait l'accent sur le matérialisme comme moyen de comprendre le monde et d'y vivre. Le matérialisme soutient que la matière perceptible est tout ce qui existe; les concepts tels que l'âme et toute autre entité surnaturelle ou plan d'existence ne sont que des inventions de personnes à l'imagination bien développée.
